Food for Thaw-t

Today was a veritable heatwave! Temps rose into the 40's - unheard of this winter! - and automatically, I started thinking about summer. Alas, the forecast predicts another storm headed our way, so I won't break out the BBQ grill quite yet.

How is it that an increase in temperature can have such effect on my palate? I'm actually craving a hot dog right now! Give me soup or stew every day from Thanksgiving to Easter and I'm golden, but come one sunny day that even hints at summer and my tastebuds scream "Give me charred meat!" Yesterday's pot of broccoli cheddar doesn't stand a chance of being reheated tonight.

A lot of people post pictures of food: food they're making, food they wanna try, even food fails. I'm posting this not because it's what's on the menu, but because I think I just might be happy sitting down to it no matter what the weather. Now... time to go figure out what I'm actually gonna make tonight...
